Kheema Burgers

Posted on Posted in Breakfast

What do you do when you have left over kheema? You go bonkers with burgers! Not exactly a very healthy option, but its alright to indulge once in a while.

We had kheema for dinner the day before,so we decided to have a burger breakfast today. For the kheema you could take a dekko from my previous post here

The ingredients

  • Kheema – 250 gms
  • 3 eggs
  • A bowl of breadcrumbs
  • A bowl of cornflour
  • Buns
  • Butter
  • Cheese slices
  • English mustard
  • Iceberg Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Onion slices
  • Oil

The Making of the Patties

  • Take all of your kheema into a bowl
  • Break an egg into your kheema
  • Add 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • Knead all of this into a nice firm dough like consistency
  • Divide your kheema into  large equal sized balls
  • Gently flatten the kheema balls to form nice thick patties
  • Refrigerate them for around half an hour so they firm up.

The Patty Frying

The patties need to follow a 3 step assembly line operation before they are shallow fried:

  • Break 2 eggs into a bowl for the egg wash
  • In another plate take some cornflour
  • Take some breadcrumbs in a plate as well
  • Alongside heat some oil for shallow frying in a non stick pan
  • Dip your patty first in the egg wash, then the cornflour and finally the breadcrumbs
  • Shallow fry your patty till it turns a nice golden brown on either side

The Burger Build Up

This is how we built our burgers

  • Slather the buns with some butter
  • On one side of your bun, place an iceberg lettuce
  • The patty is piled on next with a splash of some English mustard
  • A cheese slice is piled right on top
  • A few slices of tomatoes and onions with a sprinkle of some freshly cracked pepper

We had our burgers with some really chilled dark chocolate shake on the side.

What a perfectly loaded breakfast! J
